Dublin gears Up for Spring Half Marathon
Dublin, Ireland – Get ready to lace up your running shoes, Dublin! A brand new race is hitting the city streets next spring: the Dublin City Half Marathon.
Mark your calendars for sunday, March 30th, as the Dublin Marathon organizers, in partnership with Dublin City Council, bring this exciting event to life. The race will kick off on the iconic O’Connell Street, taking runners on a scenic journey through the north of the city before culminating back in the heart of Dublin.”As a not-for-profit association, our focus is on meeting the needs of the running community,” says Jim Aughney, race director of the Dublin City Half Marathon. “Our current half marathon (held in september) consistently sells out weeks in advance, and we recognize the increasing demand for another high-quality half marathon in Dublin.”
The course will wind its way through a tapestry of Dublin neighborhoods, including Ballybough, Whitehall, Killester, Howth Road, Raheny, St AnneS Park, Clontarf, Fairview Park, and Seville Place.
Aughney expressed his enthusiasm for the new event, stating, “We are excited to partner with Dublin City Council to make this spring Half Marathon event a reality. With our expertise in organizing the country’s most prestigious marathon and race series, we look forward to bringing another top-notch event to the streets of Dublin.”
