Authorities are investigating a shooting and a double stabbing that occurred in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., amid WorldPride DC events.It remains unclear whether the two incidents are related, according to police.
the shooting, which injured one man, took place Saturday evening in the 1300 block of 19th Street NW. Metro officials reported the 19th Street entrance to the Dupont Circle Metro Station was temporarily closed during the investigation. The Q Street entrance remained open.
Earlier, a double stabbing occurred at Massachusetts Avenue and Dupont circle. The conditions of the two male victims are currently unknown. Streets around Dupont Circle, including Connecticut Avenue, Massachusetts Avenue, New hampshire Avenue, 19th Street, 20th Street, and P Street, where temporarily closed off as part of the police investigation.
