Durand Cup 2024: Fixtures Announced for India’s Premier Football Tournament

The schedule for the 133rd edition of the Durand Cup is now available,following the group announcements. The tournament, a significant event in Indian football, will span four cities: Kolkata, Kokrajhar, Shillong, and Jamshedpur.
Mohun Bagan super Giant will kick off the competition against Downtown heroes FC on July 27 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The group stage culminates in a highly anticipated rematch of last season’s final, with Mohun Bagan SG facing East bengal FC on Aug. 18.
Twenty-four teams, divided into six groups of four, will compete in a round-robin format, totaling 43 matches. Teams from the Indian super League (ISL), I-League, and armed forces representing India, Nepal, and Bangladesh are set to participate in this year’s football tournament.
The top team from each group, along with the two best second-placed teams, will proceed to the knockout stage. Last year, Mohun Bagan SG secured their 17th Durand Cup title, defeating East Bengal FC 1-0.
