Fifteen-time All-Star Kevin Durant is heading to Houston. The Phoenix Suns traded the star forward to the Rockets for guard Jalen Green, forward Dillon Brooks, the No.10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and five second-round picks.
The trade, reported Sunday, is set to be finalized when the new NBA year commences on July 6. Durant will then be eligible to sign a two-year extension perhaps worth $122 million.He has one year remaining on his current contract, slated to earn $54.7 million in 2025-26.
Durant,who turns 37 in September,played 62 games for the Suns in the 2024-25 season. He posted averages of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, closely mirroring his career stats. His three-point shooting stood at 43.0 percent.
The Rockets, who finished second in the Western Conference, will add Durant to a roster that includes All-Star alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, and Fred VanVleet.
Throughout his career, Durant has played in 1,123 games for the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder (2007-16), Golden State Warriors (2016-19), Brooklyn Nets (2020-23), and Suns.
