Dyson has unveiled a travel-sized version of its popular Supersonic hair dryer, priced at $299.99 and designed for users who want professional styling results while on the move.
The Supersonic Travel hair dryer is 32 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than the original model, making it suitable for purses and carry-on luggage. Despite its compact size, it retains the core technology of the full-sized Supersonic, including intelligent heat control that measures air temperature over 40 times per second to prevent extreme heat damage.
A key feature of the travel model is its universal voltage compatibility, which allows it to automatically adapt to electrical systems in different countries without the need for a voltage converter. This addresses a common pain point for international travelers who previously had to worry about using their hair dryer abroad.
The device is backwards compatible with existing Supersonic attachments, meaning users who already own the original hair dryer do not need to purchase new accessories. Additional attachments remain available for purchase separately.
Dyson first launched the original Supersonic hair dryer ten years ago at a price of $400. Since then, the company has expanded its hair care line to include products such as the Airwrap curler, Corrale straightener, and Airstrait wet-to-dry hair straightener. In 2024, Dyson released the Supersonic r, a professional-grade model priced at $569.99 that later became available to consumers.
The Supersonic Travel is now available for purchase directly from Dyson and through authorized retailers. The launch coincides with increased consumer demand for portable beauty tools that maintain performance standards across different environments.
