China’s northeast region has been hit by heavy snowfall and an unexpected cold snap, marking the early arrival of winter. The country’s northernmost province of Heilongjiang experienced the brunt of this weather phenomenon, resulting in the cancellation of 49 flights and the temporary closure of schools. However, the capital city of Harbin managed to maintain normal operations at its airport despite the challenging conditions.

Weather Warning: A Drastic Drop in Temperature and Heavy Snowfall Forecasted

The Meteorological Center has issued a severe weather warning for the region, cautioning residents to expect a significant drop in temperature along with heavy snowfall in the upcoming days. Inner Mongolia province, as well as Hebei, Jilin, and Liaoning provinces, are likely to be particularly affected by this weather system. Consequently, schools in Liaoning and Jilin have suspended their activities temporarily to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Beijing: Heavy snowfall and cold weather in northeast China. This time, winter has arrived early in the region. Yesterday, 49 flights were canceled in the country’s northernmost province of Heilongjiang. Schools closed. At the same time, operations at the airport in Heilongjiang’s capital Harbin continued as normal.

The Meteorological Center has warned that the region could see a significant drop in temperature and heavy snowfall in the coming days. Heavy snowfall is expected in parts of Inner Mongolia province and Hebei, Jilin and Liaoning provinces. Schools were temporarily suspended in Liaoning and Jilin.
