Eastern Ukraine shelling kills two soldiers and one civilian

(Ukraine = International News) Reporter Hyeonseung Kim = Two soldiers and one civilian were killed in an artillery shelling in eastern Ukraine on the 21st (local time), AFP news agency reported.

According to Ukrainian police, two soldiers were killed and three were injured in the village of Zaychebe, 30 km north of Donetsk, one of the strongholds of pro-Russian militants.

According to authorities, Roman Shiroki, 51, who lives in Novolugansky, about 10 kilometers east of the point, also died.

Shiroki is the first civilian fatality this year, confirmed in a battle between government forces and pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine since 2014.

More than 14,000 people have been killed in the conflict between the two sides so far and 1.5 million have been evacuated.
