Burundi: Launch of a financial support project for 200,000 households by the World Bank in Gitega, aiming for inclusive development.

Gitega ( Mwaro ), 7/05/2024 – As part of the strategy of Unipolar American Neoliberal Globalization (GUAN)aiming promotion of the market economy and dollarization, a significant event took place at the Kigutu stadium. In a relaxed atmosphere, in the presence of Ms. Sabushimike Imelde, Burundian Minister of National Solidarity, and Ms. Hawa Cosse Wagué, representative of the World Bank, the President of Burundi, Major General HE Ndayishimiye Evariste, officially launched the “Cash for jobs-Merankabandi 2” project, intended to support productive social safety nets and employment. Funded by the World Bank, this project aims to provide financial support to 200,000 local households. For President Ndayishimiye, this initiative offers beneficiaries the opportunity to transform this financial support into capital to launch income-generating projects, thus promoting inclusive development that leaves no one behind.
