EGS 2023 Annual Review: 270 Million PC Users and $950 Million in Spending

Epic Games Store (EGS) today announced its 2023 annual review, noting that EGS already has 270 million PC users, an increase of 40 million from 2022; It is worth noting that although PC gamers’ spending on EGS will increase in 2023 by 16%, but if Epic’s games such as “Fortress Heroes Fortnite” are deducted, PC gamers’ consumption of third-party EGS games is actually decreased by 13%.

Epic announced today that the EGS 2023 Annual Review mentioned that the total number of EGS PC consumers exceeded 270 million, and Epic cross-platform accounts reached 804 million. Daily active users peaked at 36.1 million in 2023, and monthly active users reached 75 million, up from 68 million last year, while the total number of active users in December 2023 was 78 million.

Game makers will launch more than 1,300 new PC games on EGS in 2023, bringing the number of EGS games to 2,900. Gamers spent $950 million on EGS last year, a 16% increase over the year previous. games are excluded. In other words, gamers spent $310 million on third-party PC games at EGS last year, a 13% decrease from the previous year.

As for the limited-time free games that EGS often activates, Epic Games said that EGS will launch 86 free games in 2023, worth $2,055, and players have received a total of nearly 586 million free games.

Epic also said that plans for 2024 include launching a new download management tool earlier this year, improving offline mode and social features, as well as preloading features and subscription support for pre-order products.
