Third Man Records is⁢ set⁤ to reissue Heatmiser’s final album, Mic city Sons, in festivity of its 30th anniversary. ⁤The reissue, slated for release July 25, features remastered versions of the original 12 songs, along with a collection of 12 rare and previously unreleased tracks. Among these is a⁢ “Rock ⁤Version” of Elliott Smith’s “Christian Brothers.”

the surviving members of the band—Neil Gust, Sam Coomes, and Tony Lash—decided to revisit Mic City⁢ Sons after their collaboration with Third Man on the Music of Heatmiser anthology. Lash said he discovered nearly finished but‍ unmixed tracks,and also some that⁣ the band ran out of time to fully develop. He added that the process brought him back to the band’s creative space and life, making him appreciate what they had.
