Islamabad: The Pakistan cricket team suffered another setback after withdrawing from the New Zealand tour at the last minute citing security concerns. The England cricket team’s tour of Pakistan has been met with skepticism.
The English Cricket Board said in a statement on Friday that it was assessing the security situation in Pakistan and would take a decision within 48 hours.
The men’s and women’s teams were due to arrive for the tour. The New Zealand team arrives in Pakistan for a limited overs series consisting of three ODIs and five Twenty20 matches. The Kiwis withdrew from the series due to security concerns just before the start of the first ODI in Rawalpindi.
