During the rainy season, The Dragon Boat Festival holidays, final exam week and graduation season, as well as Wuhan and the rising flu epidemic, have caused an avalanche of blood donations to decline. The Taichung Blood Donation Center warns that no matter how severe the ischemia is, it may affect the blood supply to the hospital, calling on the public to donate blood.
The Taichung Blood Donation Center has only 2.6 days left in its blood inventory, of which type A is 1.6 days old, type B is 3.1 days old, type O is 2.7 days old, and type AB is 5.1 days old. Flanking, and then facing the summer vacation of seasonal ischemia, the blood is worrying.
According to the analysis of the Taichung Blood Donation Center, the blood inventory has not reached the 7-day safe inventory since the Wuhan pneumonia epidemic. In March this year, the epidemic prevention measures were loosened, and the people’s willingness to donate blood increased. Declining willingness to donate blood, Taichung Blood Bank’s injection fell again.
Chen Jiaqi, director of planning and planning at Taichung Blood Donation Center, pointed out that now that schools are on summer vacation one after another, blood donation activities are no longer held, and young people donate blood. The reduction in blood pressure and the hot and hot weather have also affected people’s willingness to go out to donate blood. It is expected that blood stocks will continue to be in short supply.
Currently, the Taichung Blood Bank supplies a total of 1,800 bags to hospitals in Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Yunlin every day. Due to the increase in medical needs, 11,621 bags have been added from January to June this year. However, due to unstable or hot weather recently, the amount of donated blood has decreased. In the past, there were 1,100 bags on weekdays and 2,300 to 2,400 bags on holidays, but now it has decreased by about 20%.
Chen Jiaqihu said that there are large-scale blood donation activities at Taiping Jade Palace this Saturday, Sunday at Darong Cargo Plaza, and Yunlin Huwei Liufang Maxi Puzai Red Altar, calling for active sleeve donations.
