ERC Sets New Guidelines for Electricity Bill, Maximum of 5.44 Baht per Unit

Stock dimension – The Energy Regulatory Commission has decided to recognize the burden of production costs, setting 3 guidelines for the new electricity bill, with a maximum of 5.44 baht per unit, and is open to listening to opinions.

Mr Khomkrit Tantrawanit The Secretary General of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) revealed that the meeting of the Energy Regulatory Commission decided to recognize the actual cost burden of electricity production for the period September – December 2023 and approve the results of the FT estimation calculation (Ft) for the period May – August 2024, ready to take the estimated FT value and EGAT’s actual cost payment guidelines to hear opinions in various cases.

Establish 3 guidelines for raising electricity bills.

1. Repayment of all outstanding costs in one instalment.

Divided into estimated FT retail costs reflecting costs from May – August 2024, totaling 19.21 satang per unit. Make the average electricity bill (excluding VAT) increased to 5.4357 baht per unit

2. Repayment of outstanding costs in 4 instalments.

Divided into estimated FT retail costs reflecting costs from May – August 2024, totaling 19.21 satang per unit. Average the electricity bill Excluding VAT, it is 4.3405 baht per unit.

3. Determine the FT value equal to the current period as proposed by EGAT or repay the remaining cost burden in approximately 7 instalments.

Divided into an estimated FT retail cost reflecting costs for May – August 2024, the amount is 19.21 satang per unit, making the average electricity bill excluding VAT 4.1805 baht per unit, equal to the average electricity bill in the current period.
