Esperance Cruises Past Pyramids in Champions League Clash
Tunis, Tunisia – Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis delivered a dominant performance, defeating Egypt’s Pyramids FC 2-0 in a Group D clash of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
The victory propelled Esperance to the top of the group standings with 7 points, three clear of Pyramids who suffered their first loss in the competition.
Algerian winger Youssef Belaili opened the scoring for Esperance in the 36th minute with a moment of individual brilliance. Cutting in from the left flank, Belaili weaved past Pyramids defenders before unleashing a powerful shot that left goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawi with no chance.
