‘Estimated transfer fee alone is 240 billion won’… Former Tottenham manager, “It’s just a matter of time before Kane goes to Manchester City”

[인터풋볼] Reporter Donghoon Shin = Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed his thoughts on the transfer saga of Harry Kane, 28.

Kane is at the center of the Tottenham Hotspur issue right now. Kane, who is a strong goal youth and main gunner, scored 221 goals in 336 official matches as a one-club man for Tottenham. Last season, he was equipped with offensive development ability and recorded 23 goals and 14 assists in the English Premier League (EPL) alone, winning the top scorer and assist king. Showing off his world-class skills, he is being called the best striker in the world beyond England.

The trophy was disappointing compared to the ability he showed. Kane has won several individual awards, but never won a trophy. They were runners-up in the EPL, the UEFA Champions League, and the English Football League (EFL) Cup last season, but failed to win the trophy after being defeated by Manchester City. Kane has requested a transfer, but Tottenham have declared no sale.

Then Kane took an abrupt action. He did not participate in training and conducted armed demonstrations. Tottenham fans lashed out at Kane’s act. He returned to the first team, but the transfer window is still more than 10 days away, so his whereabouts are unclear. Without Kane, it is certain that Tottenham’s strength will be severely affected. Even if a replacement striker arrives, it is very likely that he will not be able to fill Kane’s influence at Tottenham.

Redknapp, who previously coached Tottenham Hotspur, predicted that Kane would eventually move to Manchester City through Talk Sports in England on the 18th (Korean time). “Chairman Daniel Levy is playing a game of poker,” he said. It’s like they’re squeezing to get a few more won from Manchester City. That’s what President Levi does best. It’s just a matter of time before Kane goes to Manchester City.”

He continued, “The reason is that Chairman Levy is looking for a new striker through a huge transfer fee. He is a person who is reluctant to invest unless money comes in. For Kane, now is the right time to transfer. As you get older, the value of kane decreases. If that happens, you will never receive the money you are talking about again.”

According to current reports, Tottenham are looking for up to £150 million (about 241.7 billion won) for Kane. This is a very burdensome amount for Manchester City, who have already invested £100m (about 161.1 billion won) to sign Jack Grealish. What will be the outcome of the deal with astronomical money coming and going is expected to become a hot topic until the very last minute of the transfer market.
