EU imposes oil embargo in Russia as early as next week… turn to Germany

The Wall Street Journal reported that the European Union and the European Union could implement a gradual embargo on Russian oil as early as next week as Germany, which had been opposed to the Russian oil embargo, changed its stance.

According to the newspaper, the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union, is expected to hold a meeting soon to finalize a proposal for a phased embargo.

Discussions on the embargo on Russian oil have accelerated because Germany, which has been opposed, has changed its position after reaching an agreement with Poland.

However, as Hungary, Italy, Austria and Greece are still cautious, it is too early to be optimistic that the EU will be able to reach an agreement on an embargo on Russian oil.
