The European Union, which imposed ‘tariff bombs’ on Chinese electric vehicles, has now launched an investigation into Chinese online shopping platform Temu for violations of the Digital Services Act.

The Digital Services Act, which went into effect last February, was introduced to prevent the spread of online false information, illegal products, and harmful content.
The use of users’ personal information and targeted advertising aimed at minors are strictly prohibited.
Previously, the EU was investigating large online platforms such as Meta, AliExpress, and TikTok for violations of the Digital Services Act.
