Geopolitical dynamics are shifting as Belarus, Ukraine, and Armenia pursue new alliances.Belarus joined the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in July 2024, solidifying its eastward pivot. Concurrently, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a 100-year partnership agreement in January 2025, while the United States and Armenia established a strategic partnership.
BelarusS entry into the SCO marks a meaningful move. The SCO, founded in 2001, focuses on security and economic cooperation.President Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of national currency payment mechanisms within the SCO, aiming to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar.He also proposed a Eurasian Charter on Diversity and Multipolarity.
