Artist Ali Al-Tayeb Apologizes for Criticizing “Omar Effendi” Series
Nooran Osama reported that artist Ali Al-Tayeb retracted his attack on the creators of the “Omar Effendi” series for using his famous phrase, “It is a need 13 sincere”, which was previously used in the series “This is what happened”.
Al-Tayeb explained on his Facebook account that he deleted the post because it offended his colleagues, and he felt that they had not given him proper credit for the phrase. However, he acknowledged that the phrase was part of his effort to develop the character in the series “This is what happened”.
He stated that he had worked with the scriptwriter, Abdel-Rahim Kamal, and the late director, Hatim Ali, to create the character and choose the dialogues. Al-Tayeb emphasized that he respects the work of his colleagues and acknowledges that every artist has the right to create and be themselves.
He also mentioned that he is happy for the success of his colleagues and has never felt threatened by their achievements. However, he felt that ignoring his contribution to the phrase was not acceptable, and he wanted to make it clear that he values the work of his colleagues.
The “Omar Effendi” series, starring Ahmed Hatim, Rania Youssef, and Aya Samaha, consists of 10 episodes and is available on the Shahid platform. The series “This Is What Happened” was written by Abdel Rahim Kamal, directed by the late director Hatim Ali, and starred Ruby, Mohammad Farag, and Ali Al-Tayeb, among others.
