″I will give you an honest answer today. The investigating agency will fully reveal this.”

It was reported that Legal Affairs Officer Yoo had directly called the head of the Marine Corps Investigation Team on July 31 last year, when former National Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop suspended the transfer of the case to the police, and told him to “reduce the number of suspects and postpone the transfer”.

Then, on August 2 last year, when the Marine Corps investigation team forced the case to be transferred to the police and the Ministry of National Defense recovered the case again, discussions were held with the Gyeongbuk Police Agency to recover the case.

The Corruption Investigation Bureau also obtained details of a phone call that day between Legal Affairs Officer Yoo and Lee Si-won, secretary to the president for public discipline.

“<이시원 비서관이랑 어떤 통화하셨어요?> The detective agency will tell you everything today. <이시원 비서관이 먼저 전화한 건 맞나요?> …….”

Subsequently, when the Ministry of National Defense, which had recovered the case, reviewed the investigation documents through the investigative headquarters, the legal affairs officer expressed his opinion, saying: “Only the two battalion commanders should be listed as suspects.”

The Corruption Investigation Bureau plans to check with Legal Director Yoo under whose instructions he was involved in each trial and why he spoke with Secretary Lee Si-won.

The Corruption Investigation Bureau is also coordinating the attendance program with Park Kyung-hoon, acting director of the Investigation Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, who is responsible for reviewing investigation records and is expected to summon and investigate key suspects one for one following the legal procedures. Business Director Yoo.
