Exclusive Pirelli Tires Developed for Ferrari’s Legendary Supercars

[M투데이 이정근기자] Ferrari has completed development testing of new tires exclusively for the Enzo Ferrari supercar.

On the 8th, the tests of the Pirelli P Zero Corsa System tyres, designed specifically for Enzo Ferrari, officially concluded on the Fiorano track. The dimensions and proportions of this new tire are the same as the original tyre, but using cutting-edge materials, compounds and technologies, it guarantees grip, performance and safety at the same level as the latest tyres.

The tire specifications of the P Zero Corsa system are the same as before, 245/35 R19 (front wheel) and 345/35 R19 (rear wheel), and a bi-directional asymmetric tread pattern is applied to provide excellent grip even on wet roads.

Furthermore, Pirelli has officially approved the use of P Zero Corsa system tires from the Collezione family, which it had previously supplied in the aftermarket for the F40 and F50. When it was launched in 1987, the F40 was the first high-performance car to be equipped with Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tyres.

And this time, Pirelli has introduced an updated version modified to match the existing tire lettering with the specifications of 245/40 R17 (front wheel) and 335/35 R17 (rear wheel), which are the same as the original F40 tyres.

The Collezione’s exclusive P Zero Corsa system tires for the 1995 Ferrari F50 are 245/35 R18 (front wheel) and 335/30 R18 (rear wheel) and, through development testing at Fiorano, the handling characteristics and sensation are similar to those of the original original. It is manufactured to be identical to the tyre.

Additionally, tires for the 1984 GTO are currently under development. The new tires will be installed on the vehicles participating in the Legacy Tour, which will take place from 1 to 4 October in Italy from the Dolomites to Maranello.

The tire Pirelli supplied for the GTO is the P7 Cinturato, originally developed for the 1974 World Rally Championship and released for production cars in 1976. The P7 is the first modern tire to feature a low aspect ratio for improved handling . The newly developed tires will emphasize period style by combining existing specifications (225/50 R16 for the front wheel, 265/50 R16 for the rear wheel) with modern materials and structural technology.

By officially approving replacement tires for four legendary supercars, Ferrari has once again demonstrated its commitment to helping customers who own historically important Ferrari models use their vehicles with confidence.
