Expatriates hit back; Oman to strengthen repatriation in the health sector

Muscat ഒ Oman Ministry of Health to strengthen indigenization in the health sector. The Ministries of Labor and Health have agreed to replace expatriates with natives, including in the nursing and paramedical sectors. The contract is for preparation, including training.

During the year, 900 natives will be appointed to replace the foreigners in various posts. Of these, 610 have already been recruited. The recruitment process for 134 persons is in progress. The ministry said 156 people would be recruited within two and a half months after the training.

Indigenous people will be trained in nursing and paramedical disciplines. The one-year training program will be funded by the Ministry of Labor.
