Experience the Future of Entertainment: tvOS 18 is Here
tvOS 18: Unlocking a Smarter Viewing Experience
tvOS 18 introduces a range of innovative features that elevate the viewing experience on Apple TV+. One of the standout features is Insights, which provides timely, on-screen information about actors, characters, and music in every live-action movie or show. This feature is designed to enhance the viewer’s engagement and provide a more immersive experience.
Another significant update is the enhancement of Dialogue Enhancement, which utilizes machine learning and computational audio to make dialogue sound clearer. Additionally, subtitles now automatically appear at the perfect time, whether you’re on mute, rewinding a show, or watching content in a different language than your device.
tvOS 18 also brings stunning new screen savers, including Portrait, to Apple TV 4K. These visually striking features are designed to showcase the capabilities of the device and provide a beautiful display when not in use.
Enhanced Home App Features
The Home app has received significant updates, including Guest Access, which allows users to control locks, garage doors, and security systems. This feature also enables users to schedule personal or time-based access to homes with smart locks and view guest activity history.
Furthermore, the Home app has partnered with major electric companies to provide users with a more comprehensive understanding of their home’s energy use. This feature enables users to make more informed decisions about their energy consumption and reduce their environmental impact.
Other Features for the Home
- Guests can now control the music played on HomePod and HomePod mini using SharePlay and Apple Music.
- AirPlay now supports Spatial Audio, providing an immersive audio experience when streaming audio from iPhone or iPad to HomePod or compatible third-party audio devices.
- FaceTime using Continuity Camera on tvOS 18 now features Live Captions in the US and Canada, allowing users to read what the other person is saying on a FaceTime call on the biggest screen in their home.
- Apple Fitness+ has received an all-new design in tvOS 18, featuring personalized recommendations for workouts and meditations, powerful search, and enhanced badges to help keep users motivated.
