On the 7th (local time), multiple explosions were heard throughout the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.

Reuters, citing Russian and Ukrainian media, said that multiple explosions occurred in several places in Crimea early in the morning.

Russian social media said their air defenses had repelled an attack on Crimea.

BAZA, a Telegram-based news channel close to Russian law enforcement agencies, reported that Ukraine launched more than 10 drones into Crimea, but that three drones were shot down in Sevastopol only because Russian air defenses are operating.

Sevastopol is a port city in the southern part of Crimea, and on the 29th of last month, a fuel tank in this port was engulfed in smoke from a huge explosion due to a drone attack.

The Mayor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razbojaev, said on Telegram that day that “no facilities in our city were damaged,” and that Russian air defenses were functioning properly.

However, in other parts of Crimea, there is still no information about the damage caused by the drone strikes.

On this day, explosions occurred not only in Sevastopol, but also in Saki and several other areas of Crimea, reported the Telegram channel monitoring Ukraine. Among them, Saki is an area near Novofedorovka (Novo Fedorivka), north of Sevastopol, and is known to be the site of a Russian air base.

Ukrainian journalist Andriy Chaplyenko shared the same information on his social media. He organized information about the explosions in different places in the Crimea in chronological order, and said that it was possible that the Russian air defenses were not working in some areas, such as Yeppatoria, the Cossack Gulf, and Krasnoperekovsk.

Over the past two weeks, attacks on Russian military facilities in territories occupied by Russia, such as Crimea, have intensified. Ukraine did not recognize the attacks as sabotage, but said the destruction of infrastructure was in preparation for a planned counter-attack.
