Meta’s Bold Move: Unpacking the Mystery Behind Facebook’s Logo Color Shake-Up
Early on the morning of January 8 (Vietnam time), many iPhone users suddenly noticed that their Facebook icon had changed from a blue background with a white ‘f’ to a black background with a blue ‘f’ and asked questions about the cause of this change.

According to discussions on the Global Technology Forum, this issue appears to only occur on mobile devices that have updated to iOS 17.6.1, while other versions retain the same logo color.
Facebook has not yet made an official statement about the change. Some speculate that the change may be related to Apple’s upcoming iPhone launch event scheduled for October 9 (Vietnam time). At the event, Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 18 line along with the iOS 16 upgrade.
Some other opinions also believe that this change could be a marketing strategy to pique users’ curiosity and interest, which is not a new move in the app industry.
Although the specific reason has not yet been revealed, the change in Facebook logo color has been a hot topic of discussion in the user community, and many are still waiting for an official response from Metaplatform, Facebook’s parent company.
