Dozens gathered around the tomb of the late artist Abdel Halim Hafez, amidst a state of supplication and reading the Qur’an on the 47th anniversary of his passing, as he passed away on March 30, 1977 after a career full of artistic giving, during which he presented many songs and cinematic films that are still stuck in the minds of audiences and viewers.

Even though all these years have passed since Nightingale’s passing, the talk about the late singer does not end, especially since his songs, films, and star stories are still followed by the public, and they hear his songs on all occasions, whether joyful, sad, romantic, or patriotic, as he was able to immortalize his name as one. One of the most important singing stars in various generations.

Abdel Halim Hafez was born on June 21, 1929 in the village of Al-Helwat, affiliated with the Ibrahimiya Center, Sharkia Governorate. His real name is Abdel Halim Shabana. He is the youngest son among four brothers, Ismail, Muhammad, and Alia. His mother died days after his birth, and before Abdel Halim turned one year old, his father died, so he could live as an orphan. From his father’s side, as he experienced from his mother’s side before, he lived after that in the house of his uncle, Hajj Metwally Amasha.

Since the nightingale’s passing to this day, his fans from all countries of the world continue to flock to his grave to visit him and recite Al-Fatihah to him.
