‘Fast & furious: Hollywood Drift’ Coaster Coming to Universal Studios

Los Angeles — Universal Studios Hollywood previewed its new “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster,set to open in 2026. The high-speed ride promises to immerse guests in the world of the popular movie franchise, enhancing the park’s role as a top entertainment destination.
The theme park released a video showcasing race scenes from the “Fast & furious” movies alongside animations of the upcoming roller coaster. The ride will feature four-car trains modeled after vehicles from the films. each car will spin 360 degrees independently as it navigates the 4,100-foot track, which includes loops and corkscrew turns.
The “Fast & Furious” Hollywood Drift coaster will reach speeds of 72 mph, making it the fastest ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. Other Universal roller coasters are based on the “Harry Potter” franchise and ”The Mummy.”
By comparison, Cedar Point’s Top Thrill Dragster hits 120 mph, and Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Superman: Escape from Krypton reaches 100 mph. Other Magic Mountain coasters, Ninja and New Revolution, each go 55 mph, while Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain is 36 mph and Space Mountain 27 mph.
Universal first announced the “Fast & Furious” roller coaster in 2024. It joins ”Extreme Close-Up,” a vehicular stunt exhibit, and “Supercharged,” a tram tour segment simulating a street race, as the third attraction based on the film series.
