(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Moon-seong = CNN reported on the 28th (local time) that a father in his 50s died after saving his 4-year-old son from falling into a pond in the United States.
According to this, Kevin Howell (51), a manager in the town of Carmel, Maine, and his son were crossing Lake Etna near their home around 6:30 in the morning on the 26th when the ice broke and they fell into it.
At the time, a significant portion of the pond was frozen.

Howell saved her son by lifting him from the water and told him to ask his mother at home for help.
The local sheriff’s office said, “Yi went home and reported this to her mother,” and “the mother called 911 and ran with an anchor and a rope to help her husband.”
However, although the child’s mother tried to save her husband, she herself fell into the water and was rescued by a detective from the sheriff’s office who arrived at the scene just in time.
Howell went missing, but his body was found and he was recovered on the afternoon of the accident.
