– CF Montréal has announced the transfer of forward Noah Streit from Swiss Super League club FC Basel 1893, adding a dynamic attacking option to their roster ahead of the season opener against San Diego FC.
The 20-year-old Swiss youth international has signed a contract through the , with a club option for the . FC Basel will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee involving Streit, according to club announcements.
“We are very pleased to welcome Noah Streit into our ranks,” said Luca Saputo, Montréal’s senior director of recruitment and athletic methodology. “Noah is a dynamic left winger, capable of creating imbalances and making a significant offensive impact. He perfectly fits the profile we are looking for to energize our attacks.”
Streit spent the first part of the season on loan with second-division side Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, where he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 21 matches across all competitions. Prior to his loan spell, he developed through the FC Basel system, featuring for FC Basel II over three seasons, amassing 53 appearances.
With FC Basel II, Streit scored nine goals and added two assists. He also contributed to Basel’s U19 team winning their league title in the .
The forward joined the FC Basel academy in from FC Biel-Bienne 1896, progressing through their youth ranks before officially joining the U16 squad for the .
Streit has also represented Switzerland at various youth levels, including the U18, U19, U20, and U21 teams, most recently participating in UEFA U21 European Championship qualifying matches in .
The acquisition of Streit is part of a busy offseason for CF Montréal. On the same day, the club also announced the signing of Venezuelan midfielder Wikelman Carmona, acquired via trade with the New York Red Bulls. Recent transactions also include the sale of goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois to FC Dallas and winger Dante Sealy to the Colorado Rapids.
Matías Cóccaro’s contract was mutually terminated in , and the club declined contract options for Fernando Álvarez, Alessandro Biello, Bryce Duke, Tom Pearce, and Giacomo Vrioni. New additions to the squad alongside Streit and Carmona include former Vancouver Whitecaps forward Daniel Ríos, former Orlando City defender Dagur Dan Þórhallsson, and former Real Salt Lake player Brayan Vera.
