FCMB Group Plc has restated its commitment to the Ojude Oba Festival, recognizing its importance as a cultural and economic driver. The annual festivity strengthens community bonds, preserves heritage, and stimulates economic activity in tourism, hospitality, and arts and crafts sectors.
Diran Olojo, Divisional head of Corporate Affairs at FCMB, speaking in Ijebu-Ode ahead of the 2025 festival, said Ojude Oba reflects the values that align with FCMB’s mission to connect people and markets through meaningful relationships. The Ojude Oba Festival is scheduled for June 8, 2025, two days after Eid-el-Kabir.
The festival brings together Ijebu indigenes and visitors to celebrate culture and unity and honor the Awujale of Ijebuland,Oba sikiru Kayode Adetona. This year’s theme is “Ojude Oba: Celebrating Our Roots, Preserving Our Future.”
Olojo emphasized that FCMB’s involvement extends beyond sponsorship,aiming to reinforce traditions with socio-economic value. He noted that festivals like Ojude Oba generate direct and indirect benefits across various sectors while preserving the cultural identity of the Ijebu people. FCMB will participate in the regberegbe parade and pay homage to the Awujale.
