Potential Fed Chairmanship
Waller is among the five finalists being considered to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell when his term expires in May 2026. According to CNBC’s Steve Liesman, President Donald Trump is expected to interview Waller this week. Though, Trump has indicated that Kevin Warsh and Kevin Hassett are currently the frontrunners for the position.
