Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 12. Recently, the Men’s Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP) released the latest world rankings. Since he has not participated in any competitions in the past year, the Swiss star Federer, who has been away from the arena for a long time, was cleared of points and did not enter the ranking. This is the first time Federer has dropped out of the world rankings since 1997.

In the past year, Federer once again encountered the great challenge of his career nightmare – “injury”. Federer has undergone knee surgery for the third time since the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2021, and has missed all competitions, including the Tokyo Olympics.

The Swiss veteran, who will turn 41, told the media a week ago that he hopes to be back on the court in Basel, Switzerland, in October and at Wimbledon next year.

It is reported that despite losing points and rankings, Federer, who has won 20 Grand Slam trophies in his career, may still participate in the next year’s competition through wild cards and other means.
