The camera and handle can be completely separated

The “Feiyu Pocket 2S” was an epoch-making gimbal camera that could separate the camera and the main body, but the camera and the main body were connected by a wire. This time, the newly released Feiyu Pocket 3 is released from cable connections, and the camera and handle can be separated completely wirelessly. Therefore, the camera part can also be used on its own, and each will be sold in a separate package.

The camera package includes the camera body, a plate for attaching accessories, a mini tripod, a cable for charging, etc.
The camera part can insert a micro SD on the side. Since there is no cover etc for the micro SD insert port, it seems better to be careful about water and dust. You can check the settings on the small monitor, and you can perform operations such as shooting with the three physical buttons. You can only shoot with the camera, but you can’t check the footage you shoot, so connect it to a smartphone with a dedicated app and use it as a monitor.
By combining with an attachment with a 1/4 inch screw hole for a tripod, the camera body can stand on its own with the included mini tripod.
In this state, it weighs about 158g, so it can be used as a handheld gimbal camera for light shooting.
Only the camera part is about 86g.

The handle has a joystick for controlling the direction of the camera, physical buttons, and a zoom switch, so you can easily perform various operations with one hand.

When the camera and handle are connected, turning on either will start both, and the battery also seems to be shared.
Once the camera and handle are connected, even if they are separated, turning on the power to both will automatically connect the camera and handle. Even in the separation state, there is almost no delay in the operation of the steering wheel and the displayed image, and it is comfortable.
The liquid crystal on the handle is a touch panel, and various operations such as setting are possible. However, the LCD screen on the handle is small, and the sensitivity of the touch panel is rather poor, so the operation cannot be said to be comfortable. For normal shooting, operating the steering wheel is easy enough, but when using Pro mode and making complex settings, it is more comfortable to connect to a smartphone and operate.
While connected to a smartphone, the LCD on the steering wheel will only show that the connection is in progress. It is more comfortable to operate the settings with a smartphone, but there are many situations where it is more convenient to use only the compact body when shooting. I had to disconnect from the smartphone every time, so I thought it would be more convenient to use the steering wheel screen while the smartphone is connected.
Like Feiyu, which has a good reputation for gimbals
Gimbal is very stable
I actually took various photos using Feiyu Pocket 3. I tried to shoot handheld while walking, but the gimbal has a high sense of stability, and it is possible to shoot smooth images easily without blurring. When using the motionlapse function, vertical and horizontal movements were stable, but there were times when diagonal movements were a little stuttery. I mounted it on the dashboard like an in-vehicle camera, but the gimbal has a high sense of stability even in a moving car.
With a fixed gimbal, you can shoot hyperlapses and motionlapses comfortably and easily only with Feiyu Pocket 3. You can easily shoot high-quality 4K / 60fps images, and you can shoot beautiful images even at night, although there is some noise.

Most of the sample photos were taken in auto mode, where the exposure settings are left up to the camera. You can easily shoot clear images without the need for difficult settings. The PRO mode allows more detailed settings, making it a camera that satisfies a wide range of users because it is easy to use and has many functions. The feeling of floating in a full 3-axis gimbal, which is slightly different from smartphone camera shake correction, is sure to become addictive once you experience it.

I haven’t mastered the benefits of being completely separate yet, but I’m currently working on a project with Makuake for the “Feiyu Pocket 3”, which seems to be able to express various things depending on your ideas.
