FIFA World Cup 2022 : The Netherlands and Senegal entered the pre-quarters of the Qatar World Cup. African team Qatar secured a place in the World Cup final after overcoming Ecuador, who were threatening a draw. The Netherlands enter the preliminaries as champions of Group A. The Dutch team reached the final by defeating the hosts Qatar in the last match of the group stage. With this, Qatar bids farewell to the World Cup after losing all previous matches in the tournament.
A draw was enough for Ecuador to reach the knockouts. But Senegal defeated the threat of a Latin American draw 1-2. In the first half with the goal of Ismail Sar, the African team was ahead, and in the second half, Ecuador raised the threat of equalizing with the goal of Moises Caicedo. Captain Kalidou Koulibaly’s goal secured Senegal’s lead. The Latin American country tried to equalize again, but only the goal was not scored. Senegal reach the final of a FIFA tournament for the first time since the 2002 Asian World Cup.

The Netherlands secured their place in the pre-quarters by defeating the hosts by two uncontested goals. Cody Gacpo and Frankie De Jong scored for the Dutch side who only needed a draw. The Dutch team did not qualify for the World Cup in Russia. They will then reach the final as group champions in Qatar.
The top two in Group B will be the Netherlands and Senegal in the preliminaries. The Dutch team will face the Group B runners-up at the Khalifa International Stadium on December 3. The Group B leaders will face Senegal on December 5 at the Al Bait Stadium. The last games in Group B are tonight at midnight. England will face neighbors Wales and Iran USA today. The match will be played at 12.30 PM IST. England and Iran are currently the top two in Group B.
