Fifty Fifty Group Faces Challenges Amidst Dispute

As tensions escalate surrounding the dispute over the “Small and Medium Miracle” group, Fifty Fifty, concerns about the group’s activities as a rising star have been raised.

According to insider sources in the music industry, Fifty Fifty’s upcoming Hollywood movie, “Bobby Dreams,” is set to release on the 20th. However, the filming for the music video of the film’s OST, sung by Bobby, was nearly cancelled.

The music video shoot was postponed due to member Aran’s surgery in May and subsequent suspension of activities. However, it faced further obstacles as a result of a dispute with the agency, ultimately forcing a cancellation. The release date for the OST is scheduled for the 7th.

But it wasn’t just the music video shoot that encountered difficulties. Recently, the agency Attract announced on the group’s fan cafe that Fifty Fifty’s intended appearance at the upcoming ‘KCON’ event in Los Angeles, USA in August had been regrettably cancelled due to internal circumstances within the agency.

Fifty Fifty made their debut last November with the release of their mini album, ‘The Fifty’. Their single, ‘Cupid,’ gained significant attention when it charted on the renowned US Billboard ‘Hot 100’ chart, a remarkable achievement for a group from a smaller agency. This success led to them being dubbed as the “small and medium-sized miracle” within the K-pop industry, typically dominated by girl groups from larger agencies.

However, trouble started last month when their management company, Attract, alleged external forces attempting to rob the members. In response, the four members of Fifty Fifty applied for a temporary injunction against the company in an effort to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract, resulting in a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the group’s future activities.

Ongoing Battle

The battle between Attract and Dugiverse, led by Ahn Seong-il, the producer of “Cupid,” continues to unfold. Attract filed a complaint with the police on the 27th of last month, accusing CEO Ahn and three other members of attempting to steal the members’ exclusive contracts and secretly leave the company, thereby obstructing business. Dugiverse vehemently denies all the allegations, asserting them to be factually unfounded.
