Group FIFTY FIFTY’s Kina has received her first payment from the revenue generated by the global hit song ‘Cupid’. An official from Attract, the agency, confirmed that the music profit settlement will be processed soon for Fifty Fifty. The majority of the group’s music revenue is attributed to the success of ‘Cupid’. Since its debut on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart on March 21st, the song has achieved great milestones, including reaching 12th place in just 123 days and joining the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it rose to 17th place.

‘Cupid’ has been hailed as a ‘small and medium idol miracle’ for breaking records on both the Hot 100 chart in K-pop history and the Official UK Top 100 chart without additional promotion. Only Kina, who recently returned to Attract, is set to receive the first settlement from Fifty Fifty, with further payments expected to be made by the end of November.

Kina continues to engage in activities with the reorganized Fifty Fifty and is preparing to attend the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, where the group has been nominated in two categories for ‘Cupid’. Fifty Fifty has been recognized for Top Duo/Group and Top Global K-Pop Song at the upcoming awards.

Earlier this year, Fifty Fifty faced internal conflict when some members sought a temporary injunction to terminate their exclusive contracts with Attract. Following a court ruling against the injunction, Kina returned to the agency, citing feelings of alienation and disengagement from Duggi Bus CEO Ahn Seong-il, who was implicated in the conflict.

Upon Kina’s return, Attract decided to terminate the exclusive contracts of Sana, Shio, and Aran. The three members expressed their intention to continue their legal battle against the agency.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, Duggi Bus CEO Ahn Seong-il was investigated by the police for multiple charges, including obstruction of business, breach of trust, and forgery of private documents. In response, CEO Ahn filed a complaint against Attract CEO Jeon Hong-jun for defamation.
