[데일리한국 이기정 기자] The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 2nd that from the 3rd financial consumers can apply for the right to respond to a personal credit evaluation online and mobile.

The right to respond to a personal credit rating is the right to request explanations and objections to the credit rating results of personal credit rating agencies from August 2020 onwards in accordance with the Credit Information Act.

In the meantime, personal credit rating agencies have been receiving requests for the right to respond to personal credit ratings by fax or email, which has made it difficult for financial consumers to exercise their rights.

Accordingly, the Financial Supervisory Service and the three personal credit rating companies will improve the right to request a personal credit rating response through the personal credit rating company homepage and a mobile app (App) from the 3rd. Financial users can check the results of the credit evaluation through the website and the mobile app, and can ask what information (loan, late, etc.) is reflected in the credit evaluation and how much weight.

In addition, after checking the result of the credit evaluation and its content, if there is incorrect information, you can request that the information be corrected or deleted and the credit evaluation recalculated.

The Financial Supervisory Service said, “Since an online application for the right to respond to a personal credit evaluation is possible, financial consumers can conveniently request explanations and raise objections to the results of a personal credit evaluation.” It is expected to contribute to guaranteeing consumers’ right to know and improving the reliability of personal credit evaluation results.”
