Finding Balance in the Pursuit of Success: A Letter to the Overworked

Letter to the Ambitious Mind

Dear ambitious individual:

Are we truly content with the intense efforts we put into our lives?
Sometimes these relentless endeavors resemble a ceaseless drilling, excavating profound holes within our hearts.

Instead of allowing emptiness to prevail upon each drilling session, endeavor to discover alternative sources that can fill the void within.
Over time, you may come to realize that regardless of how much you seek to replenish, an emptiness still lingers deep within your core.

This is not to imply that we ought to relinquish our hard work.
However, there are instances when it seems we strive too fervently in pursuit of our goals; an apprehension arises that others may fail to acknowledge our efforts, or worse yet, grasp them so intrinsically it becomes overbearing.

Our hearts were once brimming with fullness and beauty.
Yet, amidst tireless toil, chaos ensues, and we strive to find a path that avoids shattering it to pieces.

While I recognize your diligent endeavor, it is unnecessary to overexert yourself.
Permit yourself the freedom to err, to utter misguided words.
We all embark on this journey for the first time, facing unique circumstances that shape our growth.

The only thing I cannot condone is stagnation.
It is disheartening that my heart continues to revolve aimlessly after her departure…

So, stand guard over your heart.
Let its rhythmic beats and fervent passion guide you through uncharted territories, illuminating even the darkest recesses of your existence.

Dear little adult:
OK? OK?

We all work very hard in life!
Therefore, it is difficult for us to realize that this effort is sometimes like a huge drill, constantly drilling holes in the heart, drilling big and very deep.

Find other things to fill the empty space in preparation for drilling holes next time.
Gradually, you will find that no matter how much you fill, your heart is still empty.

It’s not that we shouldn’t work hard.
The truth is that sometimes we seem to be working too hard to reach the goal.
I am very afraid that others will not see it, and I am also afraid that others will see it too closely and too clearly.

That heart was originally full and beautiful.
In such hard work, it becomes a mess, and I try to find a way not to break it.

I know you work hard, but you don’t have to work that hard.
You can allow yourself to make mistakes, and you can also allow yourself to say the wrong things.
We are all here for the first time and we all learn under different circumstances.
The only thing I cannot allow is that I stop here from now on.
It’s so sad that my heart keeps spinning in circles forever after she died…

So, hold your heart together.
It beats, it burns.
Let it lead you into the unknown and it will light up the dark places.
