Korean women’s volleyball players Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young’s twin sisters, who were pointed out as the perpetrators of school violence, were rumored to be transferred abroad.

On the 24th, many media reported the transfer of Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young to Greece’s ‘Thessaloniki PAOK’.

They are said to have signed the contract and completed medical tests. Afterwards, the Greek consulate requested that the two players obtain an International Transfer Agreement (ITC) from the Korean Volleyball Association to issue visas for the two players, and the transfer seemed to be successful.

However, the Korean Volleyball Association rejected the request and put a brake on his overseas transfer. According to a TV Chosun report on the 24th, the association is adhering to the position, “We know that Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young are pushing for transfers to the Greek league, but the association’s policy of not allowing overseas transfers has not changed.”

It seems that the rules regarding international transfers of players created in 2016 have been applied. The rule states that foreign transfers may be restricted for players who cause social controversy.

Meanwhile, in February, it was revealed that Da-young Lee and Jae-young Lee were the perpetrators of school violence. When the revelations turned out to be true, their former club Heungkuk Life was suspended from playing in the V-League indefinitely. The Korea Volleyball Association also indefinitely stripped them of their national team qualifications.
