Fire consumes corralón in Veracruz

At least 50 vehicles caught fire inside a corralón located in the Rinconada community in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, Veracruz.

The locals reported that this incident could have been intentional, since some of the units sheltered there were being held for having been used in acts of insecurity.

The corralón is located on the edge of the Xalapa-Veracruz highway, which forced the authorities to temporarily close the road in the area, since the smoke blocked the visibility of the highway.

The fire started shortly before 12 noon, but it was almost an hour later when firefighters from La Antigua and Xalapa, with Civil Protection, arrived to fight it.

The residents of Rinconada indicated that the vehicle confinement operated irregularly.

There were problems putting out the fire and it was not immediately, because there is a water supply crisis in the region and they had to wait for the arrival of pipes to be able to fight the flames.
