Adobe is expanding its AI-driven creative platform,Firefly,with the release of dedicated apps for both iOS and Android devices. This move follows the April redesign of the Firefly web request,aimed at attracting more users to its AI capabilities.
The new mobile apps provide access to Adobe’s Firefly image and video generation models, as well as third-party options from OpenAI (GPT image generation), Google (Imagen 3 and Veo 2), and Flux (Flux 1.1 Pro). Users can now leverage these tools directly from their smartphones.
Similar to the web app, the Firefly mobile apps allow users to generate images and videos using text prompts. They can also convert images into videos,edit specific image areas with generative fill,or expand images using generative expand.Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers can seamlessly transition between the mobile app and the web or desktop versions, storing projects in the cloud for accessibility across devices.
adobe is also broadening its support for third-party models, now including Flux.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs, Ideogram 3.0 by Ideogram, and Gen-4 Image by Runway.
In addition to the mobile app launch, adobe is updating Adobe Canvas, its collaborative whiteboarding tool, to include video generation capabilities. Canvas users can now generate videos using both adobe’s video models and those from its competitors.
