The program’s debut was highly anticipated, notably given reported tensions with JTBC, an established broadcaster.’flame Baseball,’ boldly self-proclaimed as the “strongest baseball” show, appears to have garnered significant viewer support.
Hawaii-Bound Team Faces Unexpected Obstacles
The first episode followed the ‘Fireworks Fighters’ team as they embarked on a trip to Hawaii, a reward for achieving an 80% win rate last season. However, the journey wasn’t without its complications. Jang Si-won and Kim Sung-geun, key figures associated with the team, were notably absent, having traveled to Japan to scout a new player without informing the rest of the team.
According to Jang Si-won, during a meeting with Kim Sung-geun, the players were already en route to Hawaii. When Kim Sung-geun questioned his absence from practice, Jang Si-won revealed their secret scouting mission to Japan, seeking a pitcher. Kim Seong-geun noted the potential of pitchers from the Japan Autonomous Baseball Team, claiming they could throw over 150 km/h.
Kim Sung-geun, impressed by the Japanese pitchers’ velocity, remarked, “I can’t hit this speed. The tip of the ball is different.” The two are reportedly considering these new recruits for the Fireworks Fighters.
Visa Issues Ground Player Before Hawaiian Getaway
Meanwhile, back at the airport, sunsung-kwon encountered an unexpected problem. A visa issue prevented him from boarding the flight to hawaii. “I can not ride that plane. I can’t get a visa,” Sunsung Kwon reportedly told his teammates. The rest of the team continued to Hawaii, leaving Sunsung-kwon behind.
A travel agency representative attributed the issue to an error in passport number entry, explaining that an “M” was mistakenly entered as an “N,” causing the visa to be rejected.
Sunsung-kwon lamented, “I don’t know what’s wrong, but I can’t get a visa.”
Surprise Attempt Backfires
Though, Sunsung-kwon managed to board a flight to Hawaii the following morning. He planned to surprise his teammates with a hidden camera prank upon arrival. Jung yong-gum, a caster, spotted Sunsung-kwon at the airport and alerted the team. The team decided to play along, pretending not to notice him.
The team members joked, “You have to pretend not to know the sanctuary,” and “Who gives me the autographs who are the end of the sanctuary?”
Park Yong-taek quipped, “Now it’s the beginning. From now on, I say hello to the sanctuary.” Shin Jae-young later told Sunsung-kwon that Park Yong-taek was upset by the prank attempt. Park Yong-taek then confronted sunsung, asking, “I have a laugh? Don’t lie.” Sunsung admitted,”I tried to do a surprise camera.”
Despite the initial travel hiccups and the failed prank, the Fireworks Fighters enjoyed their time in Hawaii, participating in activities such as cruises, golf, off-road tours, and visiting local restaurants.
