Fitbit Edge fitness tracker surfaced in retail listings, says Android Headlines

Google is making a new fitness tracker called the Fitbit Edge that serves as a middle ground between the Fitbit Air and the Google Pixel Watch 5, according to Android Headlines. Retail listings and computer-aided design renders for the wearable have surfaced online following an accidental marketing leak in August 2026 and an FCC listing in September 2026.

Fitbit Edge Features a Pill-Shaped Screen and ECG Strips

The Fitbit Edge features a pill-shaped bulbous screen that extends closer to the device perimeter than any previous Fitbit tracker, according to Android Headlines. The display utilizes an adjusted Pixel Watch face showing time, date, heart rate, step count, and workout activation complications. On the back, the device includes a band removal mechanism at the top and bottom alongside a sensor stack resembling the Fitbit Air. The left and right sides contain metal strips intended for ECG readings, mirroring the design formula of the Fitbit Charge 6. Google plans to ship the device with Pixel 11 Pro-matching color options including Canyon, Obsidian, and Olive, alongside Pixel Watch Active Band-esque straps.

Comparison With Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5

Google is positioning the Fitbit Edge as a middle option in its wearable lineup, sitting between the screen-free Fitbit Air and the smartphone-like Google Pixel Watch 5, Android Headlines reported. Unlike the Fitbit Air, the Fitbit Edge includes a display, notification support, and a limited set of apps including Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Find My Phone. Both the Fitbit Edge and Fitbit Air support Android and iOS devices, whereas the Pixel Watch 5 runs on Wear OS and is restricted to Android. Sensors on the Fitbit Edge include reliable GPS, an altimeter for elevation tracking, and automatic activity recognition.

Expected Pricing and October 2026 Launch Window

Pricing remains unconfirmed by Google, though previous Fitbit Charge models retailed between $129 and $179, and the screen-free Fitbit Air sells for $99.
