Tommy Fleetwood, of England, grabbed the outright lead at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., after a 7-under 63 on Saturday.He heads into the final round with a three-shot advantage, seeking his first PGA tour victory.
Fleetwood, 34, had previously shared the lead after the second round. His strong performance puts him ahead of Americans Russell Henley and Keegan Bradley.
Henley propelled himself into contention with a 9-under 61. He carded four birdies in the first six holes.
Henley’s remarkable round set the early clubhouse lead at 13-under.Fleetwood then reached 14-under after an eagle on the par-5 13th, followed by a birdie on the 15th.
Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler, the world’s top-ranked player, struggled with a 2-over 72. Rory McIlroy, ranked No.2, shot a 2-under 68.
