Dave Grohl announced the Foo Fighters have finished recording their next album during a concert in Tasmania,Australia,over the weekend. The band also plans to return to Australia soon, grohl told the crowd.
“This won’t be the last time you see us,” Grohl saeid. “We’ll be back here sooner than you think. And it’s before my next birthday.”
He added, “And we might have a whole new record of fucking songs that we just finished the other day.”
Grohl’s birthday is January 14, suggesting the foo Fighters will tour globally this year. The band has already scheduled a North American stadium tour for this summer, beginning August 4 in Toronto and ending september 26 in Las Vegas. See the full tour schedule here.
The new album will follow But Here We Are, released in 2023. That album was the Foo Fighters’ first since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Grohl played drums on But Here We Are, and Josh Freese joined the band for touring before parting ways in may.
