At the CU convenience store’s always discount event, some customers made a hoarding effort to take advantage of the gaps in the event. In the end, the event ended less than ten days after it started.

CU ended the ‘Mirae Asset Pay’ event, which was supposed to run until the 31st of this month, early on the 9th.

Previously, CU signed a business agreement with Mirae Asset Securities in March and introduced Mirae Asset Pay based on NFC (Near Field Communication) in stores across the country. The event did not limit the number of purchases in a way that dropped up to 5,000 won per purchase.

After the event, some customers who noticed loopholes in the payment program shared how to use the event online. In the case of products that are already discounted, such as 1+1 or 2+1, a 50% discount is given on the price before the discount.

For example, if you buy ice cream worth 5,200 won per piece during the 1+1 promotion, you will have to pay 2,600 won if a 50% discount is given to the user.

Consumers can buy ice cream worth 10,400 won by paying only 200 won after receiving a discount of 5,000 won from the 5,200 won stamped on the payment counter.

Shortly after the news was shared, a hoarding phenomenon occurred in some stores. As a result, some shops have even run out of stock, and inquiries from shop owners are said to have been pouring in.

In response, the CU side said, “Although the possibility of an early termination was announced in advance, the event ended early due to the popularity of the event.”

In addition, “This is an event designed with Mirae Asset to provide a variety of simple payment system experiences for users, and is a free promotion for shop owners.” “, he added.
