A special martial arts demonstration reminiscent of the cha-power show that North Korea presented at a ceremony to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea is attracting foreign media attention.

On the 13th (local time), the Washington Post separately introduced scenes of martial arts demonstrations by soldiers in the video of the ceremony released by North Korean media.

In the video, there is a scene where the soldiers put a concrete plate on the boat of another soldier lying down with their jackets removed and break them with a sledgehammer.

Soldiers used wooden clubs to hit the chest of the undressed soldier, breaking the clubs.

The Washington Post reported that “a soldier broke the chains that bound him and laid down on a shard of a glass bottle to perform a dramatic demonstration of breaking a concrete plate.”

This scene was filmed at the Defense Development Exhibition ‘Self-defense-2021’ held in North Korea on the 11th.

At the event, North Korea displayed a variety of new weapons, including hypersonic missiles.

Kim Jong-un, who watched the demonstrations by the soldiers, smiled and clapped his hands.

“We are building an invincible army to counter the continued hostilities of the United States,” Kim said.

“The United States has recently been sending frequent signals that it is not hostile to our country, but there is no reason to believe that they are not,” he said.

AFP also introduced the scene in detail and said, “Martial arts have a long tradition in Korea, and breaking is a part of Taekwondo, a traditional martial art.”

The British media The Times introduced the North Korean military’s event with an article titled ‘Kim Jong-un presides over a bizarre martial arts demonstration’.

Middle East news channel Al Jazzardo reported on the 13th, “The North Korean military put on a brutal martial arts show.”
