Former Barcelona Star Javier Mascherano Potential Replacement for Argentina’s World Cup Winning Coach

The name of former Barcelona star Javier Mascarano is being heard to replace Lionel Scaloni, the coach who led Argentina to the World Cup title.

This former player from Argentina is currently the coach of the youth team. Mascarano played eight seasons with Barça and made 334 appearances for the club. He took part in the club’s two Champions Leagues, five La Liga titles and five Spanish Super Cup titles. In the 2014-15 season, the player played a crucial role in the club’s title victory. Mascarano is also the second most capped player for the Argentine national team. The player wore the national shirt in 147 games.
