Former Cricketer Chris Srikkanth Advises Virat Kohli to Refrain from Early Aggression in T20Is

Chris Srikkanth asked Virat Kohli to take his time before hitting fours and sixes early in T20Is. Chris warned that if he goes for big shots from the start of his innings, he will fail early.

The former told the Indian players to stick to their natural styles instead of being more aggressive as the management advocated for more aggressive cricket in the run-up to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Srikanth wants to see Virat bat in his trademark style rather than pressing the attack button early.

This is what he said –

“Rohit Sharma can attack the bowlers but Virat likes to take his time. He won’t go for six and he can accelerate at the end. “We saw what he did against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022,” he said.

“I know strike rate is important, but if Kohli plays like that, he will fail. This is international cricket and you can’t connect all the time. Virat must stick to the principles of his game. He has been following it since the beginning of his career and should stick to it,” he added.
