Jeff Miller, the professional wrestler long known to fans as “Metal Maniac,” has died. The Cauliflower Alley Club confirmed the news on October 3, marking the loss of a veteran performer who spent more than two decades as a fixture of the regional wrestling circuit in the United States and Canada, Athlon Sports reported.
No cause of death has been publicly disclosed. Reports indicated that Miller had been ill in the period leading up to his passing.
Career on the regional circuit
Miller began his professional wrestling career in the early 1990s. He joined Eastern Championship Wrestling in 1992, a promotion that would eventually evolve into the nationally prominent ECW. During his time in the industry, he worked for a variety of organizations, including NWA territories, NWA New Jersey, the Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation, ECPW, WXW, and ISPW.
His persona, “Metal Maniac,” was inspired by his personal interest in heavy metal music. A musician who played bass, Miller incorporated his background into his wrestling character, which was defined by face paint and a heavy metal-inspired presentation. His family owned a recording studio in New Jersey, further connecting his musical interests to his professional life.
Throughout his career, Miller captured several regional championships, including the CWA Television Championship, the ECPW Heavyweight and Television Championships, and the WXW Heavyweight Championship. His final recorded wrestling match took place in 2018.

Connection to Jimmy Snuka
Miller’s development as a wrestler was shaped by training from Sivi Afi, Don Muraco, and WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. Beyond their professional training relationship, Miller and Snuka maintained a close personal bond.
For years, Miller served as Snuka’s driver and confidant. He also became a regular opponent for the WWE Hall of Famer during various independent shows. His resume included high-profile independent appearances, such as a match against The Sandman at NWA Bloodfest during the early ECW era, as well as a stint performing under the Doink the Clown gimmick for NWA New Jersey in the late 1990s.
Tributes from the wrestling community
Miller’s death follows a period of several notable losses within the professional wrestling community, including the recent passings of AEW star PAC, SoCal Crazy (Nestor Bustos), WWE superfan Rick “The Sign Guy” Achberger, and actor Dennis Haskins.
